La Rousse Foods was established in 1992 by Marc Amand and Mary Massy, having previously worked in Michelin star restaurants in Ireland. They were both aware of the difficulty in sourcing high quality ingredients in Ireland at the time and believed they had identified a small but profitable niche market. Initially, La Rousse Foods was a small concern with just one van operating in Ireland. Demand soared quickly and today there are now 35 satellite and temperature controlled vehicles, 86 staff, logistics hubs located in Dublin, Kilkenny, Cork, Northern Ireland and Paris, and in excess of 2,500 product lines held at the main warehouse. La Rousse now offers its customers access to a comprehensive portfolio of products including a premium cheese range, superior meat products (with its own on-site butchery) and a large selection of breads, all carefully selected products throughout Europe and Ireland.
