Ireland France Chamber of Commerce (IFCC)

IFCC is Ireland's third largest International Chamber of Commerce, with 150 members based in Ireland, and 150 members through our Sister Chamber (CCIFRL), in France. IFCC represents a network of up to 35,000 employees in Ireland and over 2.5 million employees worldwide.

The Chamber has developed an extensive programme of events and services for 2010, building on the success of our ambitious programme this year. The overal aim of our 2010 programe is to support the increase of trade between Ireland and France, and to attract potential investors to both countries. As the Director of IFCC, I would encourage organisations with business interests in Ireland and France to join us as members in 2010, and optimise on the opportunity to meet like-minded business professionals who are leaders in developing Irish-Franco business.

Now that we are at the start of a new decade, it is an ideal time to embrace change and be creative. I would invite you to contact our office directly with your suggestions, as members, on how we can improve our programme to meet your business needs and make 2010 a success for you.

Happy New Year to all our members !

Breakfast Seminar - The French International Internship Programme (VIE)

vie

Ubifrance Ireland and IFCC worked together to create a successful Breakfast Seminar on the 28th January that presented the VIE Programme. This programme allows French companies to send young highly qualified people on a working assignment abroad for a flexible period of time. It is a great solution for the development of your trade in France, with a significant cost reductions on resource.

Laurence Coll (Ubifrance Marseille) is in charge of the scheme in France. Laurence presented the technicalities of the scheme, while business professionals such as Luc Gaubert (Servier), John McLaughlin (Sanofi-Aventis) and Terry Pennington (Gilbeys/Diageo) presented their own experience as either a past VIE, or as a current user of the VIE scheme.

The next Breakfast Seminar will cover the French Banking System on 9th February 2010. Click here to see the pictures.

Club des Affaires - Blogging & Impact on Business Practices

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and blogging : how social networks can transform your business !

if

Over 80 members and guests gathered together on Thursday 21st January for the first Club des Affaires of 2010. The panel of experts, including Chris Horn, Karlin Lillington, Joe Drumgoole, and John King gave an insightful overview of the kind of social network technologies that are out there, and that are being used to great effect across all business sectors.

The Q&A session was very interactive, and many technical "break-out" discussions over good French wine & canapes.

The Chambers (IFCC & CCIFIRL) started a LinkedIn group in November 2009. We now have 85 members and guests in ireland and France, linking via this group site. As you will see on this site, there is much discussion on a follow-up workshop on the theme of social networks.

So get LinkedIn, get twittering, we will use these technologies to communicate even more with you our members !
